Shutter Happens Photography announced today that it has been awarded a prize by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The honor landed a popular photograph by owner Mark David Zahn a prominent spot in the 2013-14 "Wisconsin’s Great Lakes!" calendar, to be published in June by the Wisconsin DNR.

"Blustery Day at Anderson Barn," a dramatic photograph of one of the Door County peninsula’s famed landmarks, earned a second place prize in the “Cultural and Historic Features” category of a photography contest sponsored by the state agency. The photograph was chosen from a field of nearly 500 submissions highlighting the beauty and importance of Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. It is prominently displayed on the September 2014 page of the calendar.

The DNR expects to widely distribute the calendar at visitor centers across Wisconsin’s Great Lakes regions, as well as at state parks across the state and at the Wisconsin State Fair.
